Quality childcare is necessary but it can be prohibitively expensive; fortunately, there are several ways to pay for childcare:
- Child Care Assistance Program: The Child Care Assistance Program, CCAP, pays for all or part of costs of child care for children under the age of 13. Eligibility for this program is restricted by income and employment status. To see if you qualify, click here. To fill out an application, click here. All application materials must be completed, signed and mailed to: Child Care Assistance Unit, Providence Regional Family Center Department of Human Services, 206 Elmwood Avenue Providence, RI 02907-1491.
- Cabrini Fund: This is a childcare scholarship administered by the Catholic Diocese of Providence. The income restrictions are less strict than the Child Care Assistance Program through the state. For eligibility guidelines click here. For the application click here.
- College Ready Communities: Residents of NeighborWorks Blackstone River Valley properties in Woonsocket are eligible for partial scholarships to cover the cost of NeighborWorks-run youth programming. For more information, contact Margaux Morisseau by email or phone at (401) 762-0993 ext.233.
