NOTICE OF APPLICATION AND PUBLIC MEETING FOR
US EPA BROWNFIELDS CLEANUP GRANT

Woonsocket Neighborhood Development Corporation (d/b/a NeighborWorks Blackstone River Valley) is applying for a United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) Brownfields Cleanup Grant for the former Andrews Mill Company site located at 761 Great Road, North Smithfield, Rhode Island. These funds will be used to clean up contaminated soil and other potential hazardous materials, prior to or during future site redevelopment. The grant application will be submitted to the US EPA on or before December 1, 2021. A draft Analysis of Brownfields Cleanup Alternatives (ABCA) has also been prepared for this project.
Draft copies of the grant application and the ABCA are available for public review and comment at NeighborWorks Blackstone River Valley, 719 Front Street, Suite 103, Woonsocket, Rhode Island 02895 during normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm) or by emailing Bill Lewis, Co-Director of Real Estate Development at NeighborWorks Blackstone River Valley at blewis@neighborworksbrv.org for an electronic copy. A public meeting will be held virtually at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, November 16, 2021.
