If you’re a Woonsocket youth entering grades 6-9, NWBRV’s C3 Summer Experience is the place for you! Connect with peers and incredible mentors. Flexible virtual learning schedule. Opportunities to come together in-person, EARN money, and best of all, IT’S FREE!!
NeighborWorks Blackstone River Valley is pleased to announce this year’s Summer Learning Initiative (SLI). The program is open to Woonsocket youth in grades 6– 9. Programming runs July 6 – August 14th, Monday through Friday from 12pm to 8pm.
The Hasbro Summer Learning Initiative is generously funded by the United Way of Rhode Island. This is our 8th year of the program.
While COVID-19 has greatly impacted our daily lives, we made the decision to move forward with our program to continue to support the youth of Woonsocket, shares Monique Austin, College Ready Communities Director.
This year’s program will be done mostly virtually. The teaching team has worked hard to create a schedule that includes enrichment activities that include art, music, photography, health & wellness, service learning, and fun weekly challenges.
Participants will register for sessions each week and upon completion, be entered into a raffle to participate in “Fun Friday’s at C3.” This will allow a group of participants to come together, enjoy games (safely socially distanced), activities, music, and a BBQ. In order to make sure everyone is safe, we will provide personal protective equipment, perform temperature checks, and the Center will be professionally cleaned.
Participants are also eligible to earn cash stipends for completing the sessions they register for.
If you are the parent/guardian of a 6th to 9th grader, do not miss out on this amazing FREE opportunity!
