Development

NWBRV currently has two projects in development: Greenridge and  Fernwood both of which are located in Burrillville, RI.

Greenridge

Our Greenridge project will invest tens of millions of dollars into Burrillville, RI for the development of affordable residential housing and commercial space. The project has two locations (1) Downtown on Pascoag’s Main Street, and (2) Uptown located off Route 100 and Lapham Farm Road.

Downtown

Designed in fidelity with the town’s goal of preserving the unique qualities of a rural main street, our downtown construction transforms several blighted buildings and lots at the gateway to Main Street into one and two bedroom rentals with dedicated first floor commercial space.

The project is slated for completion in Spring 2018. For information about rental opportunities, contact Maloney Properties: 401-762-5220.

Uptown

Situated off Route 100 and Lapham Farm Road is our uptown development, Greenridge Commons. This new community will host family rental units and a community center abutting preserved acres of wooded open space. The homes have been designed to stay true to the town’s charming architecture and history.

This project is slated for completion in the summer of 2018. For information about rental opportunities, contact Maloney Properties: 401-762-5220

Fernwood

Fernwood colonial

Fernwood is a home-ownership development located in Burrillville, Rhode Island and part of the USDA’s Mutual Self Help Housing Program. Currently, there are seven, three bedroom, 1.5 bathroom homes completed and seven more in progress.  This is the second of three phases of development at Fernwood, leading to a 30 home development on a cul de sac. Each home will be built on .3 acres surrounded by preserved open space. Homeowners chose their home design, colors, and finishes as well as get hands-on with the construction of their homes. Families work in teams of about 6, committing to 30-35 hours of work each week building each others homes until they are complete. This ‘sweat equity’ cuts the cost of the home almost in half making them affordable for low- and moderate- income families. The USDA is also offering a generous financing package for our “Selfie” families through their Mutual Self Help Housing program that includes a low interest rate mortgage. Fernwood is a beautiful addition to Northern Rhode Island’s affordable home ownership stock
