NWBRV AmeriCorps Alumni find success after serving with the organization. Just a few examples from our long history of the program include:
Stanley Eason
A lifelong resident of the Fairmount neighborhood in Woonsocket, Stan Eason started as a LISC AmeriCorps member in the ‘90s. He helped build a playground in Constitution Hill located at the corner of Center and Hope Streets that bears his name (Stan “The Bulldog” Eason Park). He is now NWBRV’s Asset Manager and Construction Supervisor and holds several construction-related certifications. Following in her dad’s footsteps, Stan’s daughter, Christiana Andre, served as an AmeriCorps member during the summer of 2010.
Stephanie Boucher
Stephanie Boucher joined the NWBRV team as a NeighborWorks America VISTA in the summer of 2010. She loved the community and her work with the NWBRV Youth RAP program so much that she signed on for an additional term of service. After her service year ended, she joined the NWBRV Community Building and Organizing Department to support youth programming and reinvigorated the Youth Initiative Project (YIP) to build leadership and encourage service among high school students. Stephanie now works for the Center for Southeast Asians in Providence.
Inigo Soriano
When he was with us, Inigo Soriano developed youth programming, including Sure Track to College. He left to work at the Leadership, Education, Athletics Partnership (LEAP) in Hartford, Connecticut as its AmeriCorps Coordinator. He uses his positive experiences with NWBRV to help recruit new members into the Americorps Program. Inigo is currently pursuing a law degree in hopes of continuing his social justice work.
Kim Eisenreich
Kim Eisenreich served as a community organizer during her LISC AmeriCorps years, planning community events such as the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration and providing valuable support to our youth programs. After two years of AmeriCorps service with NWBRV, Kim became their EducationProgram Coordinator, a position she served in for two years. Kim now works at the National League of Cities, providing education-based, systems-building support, which advances, promotes and effectively changes the quality of public education across the country. Her experiences at NWBRV have helped shape her views of education policy and reform, as well as the role after school providers can play in shaping education; now she passes those experiences along to other municipalities.
