The Art Center is a DCYF-certified child care center, providing educational programming for youth grades K-5.
For Fall 2020, we will be open from 6:30am – 6:00pm as an all-day Learning Pod, providing families with with an alternative to in-person schooling and at-home distance learning.
Distance Learning from the Art Center
Our top priorities are to provide a safe and engaging learning environment for our students and to meet the needs of our community. As a response to COVID-19, we will offer full-day distance learning at the Art Center with a stable group of up to 20 students. This provides an alternative for families nervous about sending their children to school. Read more about learning pods here.
Art Center teachers will ensure that students are fully engaging with their distance learning during school hours. Between lessons, students will explore creative enrichment activities, play outdoors, and experience an interactive classroom environment.
The Center has 20 Chromebooks available for students to use. Students will be given breakfast, lunch, and snack each day.
- Stable Group: Our learning pod will be a stable group, which means that we will not be open for before/after school care to children who are not enrolled in our learning pod. Under this model, we cannot accept students who attend school in-person.
