Our NWBRV calendar is full of events this holiday season, specifically designed to keep our amazing community engaged and energized! NWBRV’s Millrace Kitchen staff and members especially look forward to Saturday, December 7 at the Millrace Event Space during the annual Main Street Holiday Stroll and the city of Woonsocket’s Winter Wonderland!
Organized and sponsored by The Downtown Woonsocket Collaborative, The City of Woonsocket, and the Holiday Stroll Committee, the 16th annual stroll is always held the first Saturday in December. NWBRV’s very own Millrace Kitchen and Event Space promises to be a cozy spot of delight for anyone looking for a sweet place to duck into.
“We’re looking forward to providing a space for guests to warm up during the stroll,” NWBRV’s Brandon Soum said. “We are providing free hot cocoa, and the opportunity to paint your own ornaments and picture frames. They can be holiday gifts for family members or just a way to remember this season!”
Open from 1-7pm, our stop on the stroll will be a chance for our local youth and valued community members to enjoy some fun and fellowship in tandem with surrounding holiday festivities.
We are excited to see this popular, fun, and festive event return again in person in 2024. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year, and the event brings families and friends together to have fun and shop locally at our Main Street businesses. We can’t wait to see all your smiling faces at the 16th annual Main Street Holiday Stroll this Year!”

After warming up at Millrace, holiday stroll attendees can continue their way down Main Street, from Market Square to Lops Brewing, either by foot, Newport Viking Trolley, or horse drawn carriage! In collaboration with the Downtown Woonsocket Collaborative, the day-long Holiday Stroll comes complete with several musical acts, a prize studded scavenger hunt, atree decorating contest, various craft stations, food vendors, a best-dressed window contest and last but most definitely not least, a Reindog parade! Dogs and their guardians are invited to take part in the parade, while wearing their holiday finest!
Stop by the Museum of Work & Culture, Beacon Charter School, Timeless Antiques, Geri’s Bluffing Boutique, and more for special activities and refreshments.
These small business owners are the backbone of our community. They are always stepping up to support our community, so we invite you to help them by doing your holiday shopping in our downtown area, which is growing each year!”

After enjoying all the holiday spirit Main Street has to offer, we encourage you to continue on to River Island Art Park, where the Woonsocket Winter Wonderland will be in full swing! From 3:30-7:30pm, this festive corner of Woonsocket will feature pony rides, petting zoo, a stilt walker, tree lighting ceremony, food trucks, live wood and ice carvings, music, K9 demonstrations, photo prop areas, a fire pit, and last but most definitely not least–a visit from the big guy himself, Santa Clause! Santa will be available from 4-7:30pm–perfect timing to get those holiday wishes in to cap off this busy Woonsocket Saturday!
