As our annual Levitt AMP Woonsocket Summer Music Series has continued to grow, so has the incredible lineup of local artists performing on our stage at River Island Art Park. From rising stars to seasoned performers, we’re reminded just how much talent exists right here in our own backyard. Please join us in welcoming the fresh, local talent who will be kicking off our summer Fridays!
We’ve always seen Levitt AMP Woonsocket as more than just a music series, it’s a platform to bring the community together through free, live music. Every year, we’re amazed by the incredible musicians who call Rhode Island and Southern New England home. Our local talent lineup celebrates those artists, giving audiences the chance to discover new favorites while showcasing the extraordinary music that’s being created just minutes from home.
“One of my favorite parts of planning the Levitt series is discovering just how much incredible talent we have right here in our own backyard,” said NWBRV Director of Resource Development & Communications Meg Rego. “We’re so fortunate to spend our summer Fridays enjoying these amazing artists alongside our friends and neighbors. June 12 – YONKS, Alternative Rock/Blues Rock
YONKS is a fierce, female-led rock band from Providence, RI, carving out their own lane with a bold blend of blues rock and pop they call “cowgirl rock.” Drawing inspiration from Paramore, Linda Ronstadt, Alanis Morissette, Mazzy Star, and Amy Winehouse, their sound balances grit, melody, and attitude. Their live shows channel that energy into something real and immediate—hook-driven songs, raw emotion, and an unapologetically authentic stage presence that connects fast and sticks with you.
June 19 – Kimaya Diggs, R&B
Kimaya Diggs is an emerging artist and songwriter from Western Massachusetts. Her latest album “Quincy” explores Diggs’ unique style of Soul, Folk, and R&B. Diggs was nominated in the “Best New Artist” and “Album of the Year” categories at the 2023 New England Music Awards and was recently honored as one of 10 artists of color making a difference in the Boston area by WBUR. She has opened for the likes of Trombone Shorty, Lizzie No, Tank and The Bangas, and has toured with Heather Maloney. The Boston Globe calls her “Expressive, smooth vocals…she’s kind of an unstoppable force.”
June 26 – Grace Darko, Jazz
Grace Darko is a Bronx-born, Providence-based vocalist whose work lives at the intersection of jazz, soul, and diasporic storytelling. A 2026 Motif Rhode Island Music Award winner for Favorite R&B / Soul Act and runner-up for Favorite Jazz Act, she is recognized for honoring tradition while creating contemporary, emotionally resonant live performance experiences. Rooted in her Ghanaian and Togolese heritage, Grace approaches music through the spirit of Sankofa—blending groove, rhythmic depth, improvisation, and lyrical clarity in both reimagined standards and original work. Her performances invite audiences into spaces that feel intimate yet expansive—where connection, joy, and storytelling unfold in real time.”
July 10 – Honeycomb Lately, Acoustic Rock, Battle of the Bands Winner
Honeycomb Lately is a Rhode Island rock trio with an origin story as eclectic as their sound—a glassblower, photographer, and chef who met at an ice cream shop and started making music. Blending the laid-back spirit of ’70s folk with the edge of ’90s alternative rock, they deliver a style that feels both nostalgic and fresh. Their live shows are packed with energy and variety, from anthemic singalons like “BABYDOOMER” to alt-country ballads like “Cappuccino,” plus reimagined covers like All Along the Watchtower that hit with new relevance. Fans will find plenty to love in their mix of thoughtful songwriting and danceable pop-folk grooves. After selling out their debut EP release show in Providence in late 2025, Honeycomb Lately is quickly carving out a place in the New England music scene.
July 17 – Magnolia, RI Based Zydeco/Cajun
Since 1989, Magnolia has been New England’s hometown Cajun band. Learning their music from Louisiana’s finest, has earned them a solid reputation at home and recognition in the Cajun heartland. Their dance lessons and music have helped build a strong sense of community at festivals and fais-do-dos all over Northeast. Playing high energy two steps and sultry waltzes, the band’s current line-up is a quartet with Alan Bradbury on vocals and accordion, Michelle Kaminsky on fiddle, Maggie Moniz on vocals and guitar, and Jack Ezikovich on drums. The band’s fiddle, accordion, guitar and rich vocals keep the audience on its feet long into the night.
July 24 – Crash Space, Electric Pop/Dance
Crash Space is a high-energy space pop duo from Providence, RI, blending electronica, trip hop, and classic pop. Formed in 2024, they quickly made waves with their debut album Space Mom (2025) and a 2026 Motif Award for Favorite Electronic Act. Their live shows deliver a full-band feel through looping and layered vocals, pushing beyond what you’d expect from a duo. Fans of Portishead, Air, and Massive Attack will vibe with their atmospheric sound, while the soulful vocals channel hints of Amy Winehouse and Adele. With lush synths, groove-driven beats, and experimental textures, Crash Space brings a fresh, genre-bending edge to any lineup.
July 31 – Ward Hayden & the Outliers, Country Rock
Ward Hayden & The Outliers, formerly known as Girls Guns & Glory, is a celebrated New England Americana and country-rock band led by Scituate, Massachusetts native Ward Hayden. Known for their heartfelt storytelling, soulful vocals, and unmistakable blue-collar spirit, the band has captivated audiences across the United States and Europe. Blending classic country influences with rock-and-roll energy, Ward Hayden & The Outliers deliver authentic, memorable performances that have earned them a loyal and growing following on both sides of the Atlantic.
August 7 – Atwater-Donnelly, Folk
Atwater~Donnelly is the award-winning folk duo of Aubrey Atwater and Elwood Donnelly, known for their engaging performances of traditional American and Celtic music, dance, original songs, and poetry. Their distinctive sound features rich vocal harmonies and a wide variety of instruments, including mountain dulcimer, banjo, tin whistle, guitar, mandolin, harmonica, and more. Based in Warren, Rhode Island, the husband-and-wife team has performed throughout the United States and internationally for over 35 years. They also appear as the Atwater~Donnelly Trio with Cathy Clasper-Torch or Erin Lobb Mason, and as part of the Atwater~Donnelly Band and Jerimoth Hill gospel ensemble. Their work includes nine books, fourteen recordings with international airplay, and the documentary The Passion of Atwater-Donnelly.
August 14 – Aziris, Rock
Aziris is a Puerto Rican singer, songwriter and actress. She blends elements of Rock music with Bubblegum-Pop as well as some Latin genres(Reggaeton, Salsa, etc.) Singing in both English and Spanish, her music talks about navigating personal experiences, creating stories with her powerful yet vulnerable lyrics. Aziris is currently preparing to release her upcoming debut single “Over Me”.
August 21 – Funky Submarine, Funk
Led by bass player Nate Beauvais, Funky Submarine performs tunes written by The Beatles – but in ways you wouldn’t expect. The group is known for their funky grooves and jazzy harmonies which features a horn section and vocals. Music is the best!
