We’re so lucky at NeighborWorks Blackstone River Valley to have a staff of hardworking, committed team-players who work tirelessly at our mission of building affordable housing and enriching community life.
In this series, you’ll get to know the people behind the work.
Tell us about yourself.

Hey everyone! I was raised in Providence, RI. I’m a visual artist and event curator. I started my work in the community in 2013 serving as a City Year AmeriCorps member and have been working with youth ever since.
What do you do at NWBRV?
My role at NWBRV is the Director of Neighborhood Learning & Community Building. I oversee our youth programs and Millrace spaces. A big part of my job is to ensure that youth are receiving high-quality after-school and summer programming, which is done through our Community Builders in Residence Program. At Millrace, our goal is to make it easier for community members to pursue their small food business endeavors. We are working to ensure that the public has access to a beautiful and affordable venue to host their events in Woonsocket. I’m here to help Millrace reach its maximum use with a diverse array of events. I also have the honor of working with NeighborWorks’ Meg Rego to plan our annual Levitt Amp Woonsocket summer concert series.
How long have you been working with NWBRV, and how did you start working with the organization?
I started working with NW in June 2023. Prior to that, I was teaching at a charter school and felt like I wasn’t able to utilize my true capabilities when it came to making a positive impact on the whole school community, so I sought a place that would allow me to do so. Almost a decade ago, after I graduated from the AmeriCorps program, I applied for the youth program site coordinator position at NWBRV but I wasn’t equipped with enough experience for the job. Here I am, nearly 10 years later and I came across the posting for Director of Neighborhood Learning & Community Building. I read through the roles and responsibilities and it felt like the job was created for me! The opportunity to continue my work in youth development and bring community-building experiences to Woonsocket was combining all the things I love to do into one role. I gave NeighborWorks another shot, and this time I came back with an array of experiences, from middle school academic intervention to coordinating afterschool programs, planning events, and putting on shows…all of my experiences led me back here!
What inspires you to do this work?
Youth and community inspire my work. I believe that Woonsocket residents deserve to have the same great experiences as their neighbors in Providence. Youth are our future leaders, and I’m passionate about creating safe, fun, and educational environments for them to excel in.
What is your proudest accomplishment working with NWBRV?
My greatest accomplishment so far, is bringing the CBIR program back to life. Currently, we have five highly qualified educators who provide programs around art, athletics, entrepreneurship, cooking, and more at our C3 and Art Centers!
