After almost a year of construction, we couldn’t be more excited to announce that a lottery process for the 70 rental Millrace properties in the heart of downtown Woonsocket has opened this fall! If you’re in the market for a new, affordable housing opportunity, one of these beautiful, riverfront apartments–complete with new construction and historic mill charm–could be exactly what you’re looking for.
Located in the Island Place Historic District, at 15 Island Place and 68 South Main Street, the Millrace lottery is open to individuals and families making between 30 and 100 percent of the HUD area median income. The community consists of six studios, 57 one bedroom, and seven two bedroom apartments. Rent will range between $749 and $1,350, with each unit featuring free, high speed internet wired by OSHEAN, a non-profit coalition of non-profit organizations dedicated to providing innovative Internet-based technology solutions.
The Millrace District offers residents a fantastic mixed-income and mixed-use environment to live that is located on a beautiful bend in the Blackstone River at the beginning of a revitalized Main St. All of us here at NeighborWorks Blackstone River Valley are excited to help build back a thriving residential and business community in this scenic, historical area.”
