Millrace Kitchen Members “Do Good”

July 18, 2018 by Tamara Burman

Millrace Kitchen is proud home to “Rustic Roots Baking” and “Herb and Forage LLC”, two of the newest graduates from Social Enterprise Greenhouse’s Food Accelerator 2018 cohort.

The SEG Food Accelerator Program takes socially-conscious and “do well, do good” businesses that positively transform lives and communities, create jobs and lead to a healthy economy. The program was an intense 12 week boot camp where participants learned a variety of important business skills in order to take their food businesses to the next level. The program involved in-person training, online learning modules, peer mentoring sessions, industry-specific expertise, and connecting participants into new networks and resources.

“Rustic Roots Baking” is doing good for the RI food climate by sourcing all their goods locally. They are a farm to oven baking company that believes in accessibility and affordability. Order something tasty at one of their farmer market stands or at the Coffee Exchange on Wickendon Street in Providence.

Herb and Forage sells jams and drink syrups from crop grown on their very own farm land. They believe in farming and work to keep farm land out of development. They also work to educate others on  protecting top soils from corrosion through growing great local berry crops. Follow them on their journey here.
