All are invited to attend the Millrace Kitchen Open House on April 28 from 11 am to 1pm at 40 S. Main Street in Woonsocket. Five food business entrepreneurs will be showing off their skills and offering FREE samples to attendees throughout the event. Guests will have the opportunity to try tasty samples and have conversations with local food entrepreneurs.
The Open House helps locals learn about new food businesses popping up in the community and to share resources with potential food entrepreneurs interested in starting their own small business.
Tamara Burman, manager of the Millrace Kitchen shares “we are hosting this event as a way for the local community to meet and learn about the exciting progress that’s happening here in downtown Woonsocket around food!”
The following organizations and businesses will be on hand to share samples, have products for sale, and answer questions:
• Every1’s Chef – owner Roscoe Gay offers specialty cakes and southern soul food catering
• Handmade Chocolates by Charlene – Charlene Soucy will offer her specialty high end chocolate treats
• Valentini’s Kitchen – Ann Marie Sepe offers heart-healthy prepared meals and soups to-go
• Fedora’s Doughnuts – Jesse Jackson III will be on hand with samples of specialty gourmet doughnuts
Charlene Soucy of Handmade Chocolates by Charlene states that she is “thrilled to participate in an event in the city that shares the talents and gifts of these new business people with the community. It’ll be a wonderful experience to speak with and see many people coming out to support us.” She goes on to share that “it’s always inspiring to see others pushing forward their dreams.”
Dean Bank, Millrace Kitchen, and counselors from NeighborWorks HomeOwnership Center will be on hand to discuss financing and opportunities to assist individuals in starting their very own small business.
Parking Kitchen is available adjacent at River Island Park or at Market Square.
