NeighborWorks Blackstone River Valley youth programs are looking for enthusiastic and flexible teachers to teach and build relationships with youth program participants at our Woonsocket and North Smithfield sites.
Located in the Constitution Hill (Woonsocket) and Marshfield Commons (North Smithfield) neighborhoods, our programs serve youth in grades K-5. We also serve middle and high school as well. Our programs run from 2:00pm-8:00pm Monday through Friday. During school vacations, programs operate on a full-day model.
Teachers will provide homework help, teach enrichment classes, and supervise youth in addition to completing light paperwork.
Teachers’ Qualifications
Candidates for our enrichment and certified teaching positions must:
- Posses CPR and First Aide Certification
- Obtain a nationwide BCI
- Complete a DCYF staff application
- Participate in ongoing professional development
- Have experience working with urban youth
- Be innovative
- Take initiative
- Be flexible
- Be comfortable with using Google apps
Certified teachers are a plus.
