Fall is a festive time of year, and this holds true for the youth in NWBRV’s afterschool programs.
On October 26, our NeighborWorks’ youth programs held a spirited costumed party, bringing together children from the Art Center, the C3 Center, and the CCA afterschool program, along with friends, family and NWBRV residents!
“This year we held a “not a costume party” with the emphasis on prizes for best costumes instead of a fall ball!” said NWBRV Youth Programs Manager Flore Rateau. “The kids and adults all seemed really excited for it!”

With a variety of games planned for youth and adults alike to enjoy, the interactive activities, delicious food and lively entertainment proved to be a huge hit all around! From pizza and candy, to cupcakes and unique Halloween treats, every attendee with a sweet tooth was able to find their perfect bite to enjoy.
A team effort came together to make this possible in different ways. We had our director making a playlist for us to enjoy, our coordinator running the games, food and decorations, and our community person assisting where needed. A true group effort!”

The kids and their families enjoy a huge span of activities, including eyeball hunt, hangman, toilet paper mummy wrap and Halloween heads up. With prizes awarded after each game, every attendee was inspired to participate!

“We had a costume contest for those who were in costume!” Flore shared. “Our first prize went to Steve Harvey and our second prize went to the scarecrow. The prizes were movie tickets and candies!”
“We have to make sure we come back next year for these awesome prizes! I wonder what I missed last year!
