Looking for a fresh space to hold your event or launch your business in 2025? Here at NeighborWorks we are proud to offer commercial spaces for rent, including our state-of-the-art Millrace Kitchen and Millrace Event Space located in downtown Woonsocket! By directing all rental income towards supporting our mission to enrich neighborhood life, NWBRV has been able to help foster a strong community full of committed, invested residents and thriving local businesses.
Since opening in 2017, over 50 food businesses have worked out of the Millrace Kitchen located at 40 South Main Street, an incubator space designed to support food business startups. With currently 25 active chefs, top of the line culinary and AV equipment and 1700 square feet of available commercial kitchen, the Millrace Kitchen comes complete with an impressive list of equipment! Our space is equipped with a baking area with mixers and a dough sheeter, a short order line with ranges, charbroiler, and a griddle, a production line with a kettle, braising pan, steamer, and combi oven, dry and cold storage, cleaning stations and Blast Chiller!
“As the commercial real estate agent who covers NeighborWorks’ commercial rental properites, I can safely say it has a positive effect for a potential renter to lease space from NWBRV,” Garrett Mancieri of Mancieri Real Estate said. “They know that their money is being invested right back into the community. NeighborWorks provides commercial tenants beautiful spaces at market rates. Tenants can feel good knowing that their rent is reinvested in the community through affordable housing, youth programs, and supporting local initiatives.”
The Millrace Event Space is perfect for workshops, corporate meetings, parties, and celebrations of up to 125 guests. Our lower level Café Space is excellent for smaller cozy gatherings, presentations, and meetings. We also have a wood-fired bread and pizza oven that can be rented for private parties and team building activities. We can provide tables, chairs, linens, sound, and AV equipment.
I just started at Millrace about two months ago. When I first came on I fell in love with the kitchen. Having a culinary background with five years as an executive chef and starting in catering out of a similar kitchen, I was very impressed by how fully equipped the kitchen was. It’s the perfect place for a startup food business, food trucks and anyone looking for a space to help run their business. Our event space is also perfect for your next event. I truly believe that NeighborWorks is all about community and that pours into Millrace as well.
Jasmin Resto, Millrace Kitchen Manager
Former NeighborWorks Director of Community Building & Engagement, Margaux Morisseau, spoke enthusiastically about the much loved Millrace event spaces and Milrace Cafe. The affordable spaces, which can be rented for events, parties and pop-up shops for small businesses, are excellent options for community members to lease, knowing all of their money is going towards the greater good.
“Renting these spaces has a social bonus–the income is used to support NWBRV’s programs!” Margaux said. “This gives kitchen members an opportunity to try out a restaurant without investing lots of money. People are more excited to possibly rent knowing that the rental fees support NWBRV’s mission. It’s great to know the money you’re spending is doing a good deed for the community!”
