Our NeighborWorks Blackstone River Valley Accessing Home AmeriCorps program is one of NeighborWorks leading initiatives. Launched in 2016, we proudly help Rhode Island families acquire and maintain safe, affordable, healthy housing. A massive component of this successful initiative has been our partnership with various organizations, authorities and other non-profits. By utilizing all of the resources that our state has at our disposal, we’re able to maximize our own Accessing Home efforts.

With that in mind, we are excited to present our newly updated, comprehensive Resident Resource Guide!
In the Resident Resource Guide, you will find information on a variety of services available to Rhode Island residents, statewide. From affordable housing and legal advocacy, to child care or nutrition, the guide offers an extensive number of non-profits and government agencies available to assist you—with just the click of a button.
The 16 different groups of services available online include various subcategories, inclusive of people from all walks of life. We highly encourage all Ocean State residents, whether you work alongside our Accessing Home members or not, to become accustomed to the guide and utilize it as your own resource. Knowledge is power and the simple fact remains that a lot of these resources go unrecognized and unidentified by many in our community who could benefit from their help. Assistance in our state, from domestic and basic needs, to health and child care, is available in abundance. It’s within all of our hands to take advantage of the numerous resources that Rhode Island has to offer.

“Not very many comprehensive guides like this exist in the state,” Meg commented. “We’re so excited to have added the level of depth to this resource that we have, and can’t wait to get it circulating in our community.”
The guide can be accessed via PDF, Google Map, or excel workbook based on your needs.
By delivering services at 10 non-profits and municipal organizations across Rhode Island, Accessing Home AmeriCorps members actively work to alleviate the hardships caused by poverty throughout the state. NWBRV’s helpful and informed AmeriCorps members capably utilize their educational skills to act as building blocks in keeping Rhode Islanders housed, employed, and healthy. We’re excited to present our updated Resident Resource Guide as a fresh tool in our Accessing Home back pocket.
