Supportive housing is an innovative and proven solution to some of communities’ toughest problems; it combines affordable housing with wrap-around services that help people who face the most complex challenges to live with stability, autonomy and dignity.
A Story of Success – Burnside Avenue
NWBRV completed nine units of supportive housing on Burnside Avenue in Woonsocket at the end of 2013. The project transformed the vacant foreclosure into a new, vibrant rental development. Ownership of the development, as well as services provided to the new tenants by an on-site case manager, were transferred to the Community Care Alliance (formerly known as Family Resources Community Action) upon completion.
Our Partners in Supportive Housing
NWBRV partners with many organizations to provide supportive housing services including the Community Care Alliance, The Homestead Group, Seven Hills and Sojourner House. In a typical partnership, NWRBV develops and provides the housing while our partners provide the day-to-day property management and wrap-around services. Oftentimes, ownership of the development is transferred to the partnering organization upon completion of the development.
