Unique Home Ownership Opportunity
Dreaming of owning a brand new home? This may be your chance!
We are currently looking for great candidates to join our growing neighborhood.
The Opportunity
NeighborWorks Blackstone River Valley (NWBRV) is offering families the chance to own their own homes in Pascoag, RI through a program called “Self Help Housing.” The homes will be part of a 30 home cul de sac built by NWBRV. Each home will be built on .3 acres and homeowners can help chose their home design, colors, and finishes.
The USDA is offering a generous financing package through their Mutual Self Help Housing program that includes a low interest rate mortgage and reduced purchase cost. In exchange, families commit to 30-35 hours of work building the homes per week until completion.
The Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate has:
- a desire to learn how to build their own home
- 30-35 hours a week of time (per family) to contribute to the building process
- the ability to work on a team or in a team setting
In order to be considered, you must:
- provide proof of citizenship or Permanent Resident/alien Registration Card
- be purchase ready (We can help you get ready, learn more here)
- be income eligible (see FAQ below)
